Alternative Methods for Measuring the Activity of Signalling Proteins
26 Oct 2009: This application note by R&D Systems describes alternative methods for measuring the levels or activity of signalling molecules. A range of kits are presented, including the Cell-Based ELISA which permits the simultaneous detection of two proteins in the same microplate well without the need for lysate preparation and the DuoSet ICIP-Kinase Assays which can be used to detect changes in the levels of protein or changes in its phosphorylation state.

Alan G. Marshall to Deliver Plenary Lecture at Pittcon 2010

14 Aug 2009: Thermo Fisher Scientific today introduced the Thermo Scientific DyLight 350 Fluorescent Dye for the direct labeling proteins and other biomolecules. The new dye, a derivative of aminomethylcoumarin acetate (AMCA), fluoresces blue, with excitation and emission wavelengths of 353 and 432 nm, respectively.
